Bufferhack or hackman

Postby graham_h_miller » Mon Sep 26, 2011 9:32 pm

Hi

Feeling really dumb here - I've been trawling around the web trying to figure out how to give my Tivo a 60 minute buffer, now that it has a 1TB hard disk. So far, I've found Tivoweb and played with that a lot. I've got all the files for Hackman and for Bufferhack. I can telnet into my Tivo box. I can see screenshots of someone else running Hackman so I know what to do.

How do you actually run hackman to get the screen up to change the buffer?!?

Thanks

Graham

You don't need hackman or TiVoWeb. Go here:
http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?37240-bufferhack-3.x-%28CLI-and-File-Part-Modifications%29&p=180758#post180758

From the second post of that thread download bufferhack32a.zip.

It's a standalone script that can be run from any directory. The parameter is the number of minutes, e.g.:
./bufferhack32a 60

Then use the 'restart' command to reboot.

Amazing what a night's sleep and a helpful answer will do. I telnetted in, chmod 755 on the tcl and ran bufferhack.tcl 60 followed by a reboot. Seems to have worked, but I now have to wait for a clear hour when it's not recording kid's TV to check!

Thanks!
