Blank screen during search / wishlist creation?

As you say this issue was fixed some time ago in the ISO CD.
However I have had one other report recently of a similar problem with the current ISO, so will keep an eye on it.
@russmacdonald can you confirm which version of the image you used and also whether the fix suggested by Dave (viewtopic.php?f=16&t=471) sorts it out?

The patch for the AltEPG 1.0c image won't work for any other image because the fsid number that needs to be re-imported has been hard coded in that script. In fact running the script on any other software build will corrupt the MFS database and make your TiVo unbootable. Easiest way is to re-image the drive and this time include the correct mfsrestore option which IIRC is "-l 32".

Thanks folks, I did look at that thread but wasnt sure it was right as they mentioned "AltEPG3.bak image" which isnt the image I thought I was running

Anyhow ran the script and everythings fine now and Mrs's is much happier.

Still trying to get my head round all the "extras" we have now and how they all work in real life

There's a patch coming soon which fixes that and a number of other minor issues with the altepg 1.0c image.

The patch will work for all of the altepg images that have been published on this site (they all have the same base MFS structure).

No, "-l 32" is an mfsbackup option. If you want to re-image the drive without any patching fuss then you'll have to wait until the next release the image.

Hi,

I have just created a "new" Tivo 160Gb drive from the 1.0c Image CD that I had made earlier. Hooked it up in Tivo, done a 14 hour guided setup (seemed a bit slow?) & mostly working now.....

Also I have run the one & only patch that I have found (so far?) but I have the "search / wishlist blank screen issue..."

What / when is the fix please?

Hopefully your TiVo is networked, in which case you need to apply the fix in post #1 of this thread:

Thanks - eventually got there under my own steam - not obvious to a new comer (like me) that references to AltEPG3.bak also tied up with 1.0c.....

Already performed the 1.0c_1 patch before performing the ouija fix - so as long as sequence doesn't matter (i.e. does it need the patch re-doing?) then I'm looking pretty good!

Pretty handy really as the old HDD has just about had it - currently on the GSOD & pending 24hrs waiting etc.....

Has kept me amused all weekend
