Amazing stuff. Big thanks for all the work and a very construtive initiative.

Took me a while to get mine going but due to little problems I didn't anticipate. Had to find nic_config_tivo (it's in /sbin) to swap over to network based daily calls and then had another problem because the gateway address was wrong! After that it all went swimmingly.

Thanks so much to everyone who was involved in this. I switched yesterday and it went remarkably smoothly. I'm so happy to have my TiVo saved and really appreciate all the effort it took. If there's a 'beer and pizza' fund that we can donate to, please do post as I owe you :)

Yet another word of heartfelt thanks to all you guys here from me and my family. We've had Tivo for many years and it is fully original. Last night I re-ran guided setup (after doing a clear all guide data) and connected without issue over dialup to AltEPG. An impressive effort from all involved and once more many, many thanks.

Pete.

P.S. Is there a "beer and pizza" fund - I'd donate as well.

Hi.

I was delighted when I found this site and their efforts to maintain TiVo functionality. I had registered some time ago but only tried to connect when the original service died completely (Weekend of the 26th June for me). I have a completely unmodified unit which uses dial up. I tried the original 012 number and got that the number was busy. Tried the 0845 number and it worked like a charm.

I am very grateful to those who have dedicated time and resources to this project and wanted to sincerely express my thanks.

Best wishes to you all

I also want to compliment the team, and in particular whatever genius came up with the idea of creating a TiVo message with the IP address info on it when the machine boots. Masterstroke!

Upgraded a 'new' secondhand TiVo with an AltEPG disk.....bingo....all works brilliantly.

Then discovered that I could use my original unmodified TiVo as well.....talk about shock and awe...that is truly awesome chaps and so may I add my congratulations as well.

Aye, and a thank you from me too. I'd be lost without my Tivo, so the work everyone's put in is very much appreciated :D

Many thanks to everyone involved in this project. Changed to the altepg on a network card with no problems. You are the best. Will donate when I have been paid :)

+1. Whilst I can just about imagine life without our TiVo, I'd rather not, hence my TiVo currently digesting the guide data having switched over tonight.

The efforts of the altepg team are very much appreciated.

My TiVo is now chugging away nicely on AltEPG with all his SPs and WLs, and his new To Do list mirrors the Tribune list from pre-conversion. Image Image

Excellent! A very very big thank you to all the developers whose effort and late nights has made this possible. I'm truly grateful.

Another thank you here from my 70yr old mum who I've just guided (over the phone) through the set up process with ease, everything fine and dandy her end now and a very very happy mum, she is in awe of you folks who have managed to get this sorted, like I am and I know a donation will be coming your way.

Just got to do mine now but currently still got some progs that need to be watched, although we start to run out of BBC data early tomorrow.......looks like its going to be a long TV watching night
