This sounds a bit like a train company saying that "we have 100% punctuality apart from the days on which our trains are late".........

The point is, the line may only work during the week.

So are you saying that on the weekends, TiVo has to use a replacement bus service?

Some people reported success at the weekend but perhaps that was restricted to the same times of day as weekday working hours?

Because Virgin Media don't carry the same set of channels that Sky or FreeView do.

There was a suggestion a while back that Tribune Media Services have already stopped suppling data for all Sky Ireland channels.

No I derived it from the number of occasions on which I saw Succeeded compared to Failed for the Last Call on the System Information screen my dialup Tivo which I would review on a regular basis every few days.

Ah, so long as it was calculated scientifically then.

As you only checked it every few days the best you could state is that your connection rate was somewhere between 32% and 98%. You cannot say it was "95%".

72% of statistics are made up on the spot, 87% of the time.

It appears that the Irish feed from Tribune has been cut as Virgin permanently have no need for it but it would appear that Virgin are contracted to take a complete UK EPG feed from Tribune and they then use the part of it that matches their own current lineup of channels. It appears to be too much hassle for Tribune to cut down their UK feed to only those channels that are currently in the Virgin EPG since that obviously changes on a fairly regular basis and Tribune also supply their UK EPG to other customers who support different channel lineups in their products.

Tribune are slow to include new channels unless they are specifically required by a paying client. eg they don't currently cover Sony television on Sky/Freesat even though it has a pretty reasonable range of programs as it is presumably not one of Virgin's current channels.

*Currently* it is being fed. TMS\VM is a false link on your part as the mothership clearly knows that a S1 is dialling in, and not a VMTiVo. The mothership servers are not the same anyway. TMS are clearly supplying the data to the S1 mothership, but we don't know how long for.

The gradual shut-down is on-par with the way a Corporation works (slowly), so I expect bits of the service to gradually blink out.

Or, if you wanted to be a glass-half-full kind of person, you could consider that the fact that *hacked* TiVos (you could consider the changing of the dial-up number a hack) can still get data is a hat-tip by TiVo to their expert loyal S1 owners.

I think you will find that TMS is simply supplying a UK EPG feed to Tivo. Once TMS's feed arrives at Tivo it is up to them and not TMS what client files they process it in to for collection from their client servers.

I personally believe the technical staff at Tivo in Alviso do not support the UK S1 shut down so they are only following to the absolute minimum letter what they are told to do by management. So far management has only told them to cut off access via the Freephone 0808 calls made by dialup Tivos that have not entered some other phone number in their Dial Prefix code field.

In view of the ongoing litigation Tivo now face from UK customers over their Lifetime Service obligations they would probably be wise to renegotiate with Virgin that their UK exclusive does not include the continued support of old legacy S1 customers. However if the directors of the company were inclined to go down this path they should already done it by now rather than waiting until after June 1st.

Yep! same here...
This morning my networked Tivo was set to 8:Account Closed. It seems that teh listings will last until the end of the month. I have listings until the 2nd of July. Everything after that is set to "Unknow - to be announced". The AltEpg servers will get busy this weekend :-)

Yes, this is the end. Last call on 0207 has closed the account. One interesting thing is that the Next Scheduled Call has been set to next Thursday, 30 June; what might that be for?

So, presumably, wait a few days after the 0161 line becomes available, for the rush to die down, then try to get stuff from the AltEPG service.

You won't be able to set any new recordings until you move to AltEPG.

Alternatively take a look at the "How do I reset "Account Closed" (fixsub.tcl)" thread here:
