Kickstart codes

I'm not entirely clear about how long the codes are valid for. I assume that it's until the machine is next rebooted, at which time I would have to enter the codes again.

Or do they trigger some form of config file update, so the option survives are reboot?

I want to enable mode 0, but want it to survive a reboot. My street seems to get an annual power cut.

I think it depends on the specific kick start code and I also think the mode 0 one does survive reboots. (Not using an AltEPG image so cannot be 100% sure.) Anyway, it isn't difficult for you to test it :)

I'm slightly surprised that someone who knows for sure hasn't answered this already :)

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Yes, you only need to do a mode 0 kickstart once to enable it. It will then stay enabled unless you use the kickstart code to disable it again.
In fact that goes for all of the feature type kickstart codes, they effectively run the manual scripts you would have done previously automatically for you and its a one-off exercise.

Thanks guys... I had been meaning to try it anyway, but haven't had time to sort it out. Especially as I've just got a Humax HDR to play with.
