Is there a problem with TV programme timings of late? My wife uses TiVo exclusively and has always bracketed the start and stop times but just recently TiVo has been starting after the programme has started and stopping recording before the end.

No more than normal no. In fact over xmas I did far more work on the data than is normally possible. If have have any examples we can check back and see whether they were schedule updates that didn't get done by the manual process, or just the usual broadcasters playing fast and loose with the concept of time by overrunning the published timeslots.

Many thanks for the quick reply. I hope you don;t think that I was having a pop at you guys! We appreciate all the hard effort that you all put in. No, I think it is more than likely the broadcasters. Will ask LOML if she can remember any specifics.

Not at all, no probs - if you can find out soonish there's more chance of pinning it down.

Probably not much help as she takes a while to get round to watching them. The best was Downton Abbey Christmas Special but that may be too far in the past.
Could be finger trouble at her end

It's more likely to be the normal broadcaster's behaviour of deliberately overrunning the published timeslots. You would be best off running Endpad (search the forum for details) or failing that, making sure all your recordings have padding. I have 2 mins at the start and 5 minutes at the end of everything; if I didn't then the vast majority of recordings would have the end truncated.
