Sky HD with TiVo Series 1

I'm currently using a Sky box in conjunction with my series 1 TiVo to watch just the free channels.

I have got the chance of a too good to miss offer from Sky, which would get me a new Sky box (with the free to air HD channels).

My question is whether the HD channels would be viewable through the TiVo, or whether they could still be watched by bypassing the TiVo (Just for those channels) using the AUX button on the TiVo remote.

I hope this makes sense ?

You can connect the Sky HD box to the TiVo using a scart lead and record the HD channels like any other. You will however be recording them in SD resolution so you won't get the full HD quality. For that you will need to watch the HD channels using an HDMI lead connected directly to the TV. You can connect both scart and HDMI at the same time but you have to be careful and not change channel if the TiVo is recording, something it can be easy to forget if you are watching via the HDMI connection.
