Most of my older stuff on Tivo is stuff like Jools Holland where I keep a whole episode simply because I can't bear to lose 1 particular performance. I've just about mastered the use of TyTool to extract, edit and create a .mpg of the single performance in question but ideally I'd love to be able to get the edited program back onto Tivo. Is this possible ?

Hope someone answers, as ultimately, I'd like to do this too. I'm way behind you though, as it's years since I even connected to my Tivo. TyTools seems a long way off, even if my Cachecard is actually undamaged. I'll be interested to see what someone (anyone?) says about this. For now, I'll continue using a Tivo & DVD/HDD recorder.

It's not easy. Tivo only allows files in tmf format. So you must
- convert mpg to ty
- then convert ty to tmf
- then use mfs_ftp to put tmf file onto Tivo

TBH it's usually more trouble than it's worth, so people just burn the mpg onto a rewriteable DVD and watch it on their DVD player.
