Sky issued a firmware update to all digiboxes late last year.
The update adds a menu option on the main screen that causes the Sky digibox to go into standby automatically.
Its Sky's way of trying to save the earth but without telling anyone.
In their infinite wisdom when adding this option, they chose to make it default to be "enabled" too.
As a result many users are now wondering why their Sky Digibox have suddenly started turning themselves off.
Simply dust off your Sky Remote, hit the Services button, enter the stand-by menu and change it to disabled. Select save settings and hit backup.
Put the Sky remote back in the drawer and sleep soundly knowing things are back to normal (until the next time they go interfering)
