Great News everyone, I just heard back from Warren (ala OZTivo) and they are happy to assist us get up and running and have even offered support until we get on our feet.

I advised that with the wealth of experience already offered up in our 'how can I help' thread that we should be able to get self sufficient quite rapidly!

With the progress and experience kitschcamp already has with the client end stuff, it looks like we are in good shape!

Yup. The quicker we can get the basics up and running, the better. That means we then will have time and resources available to get those things we always wanted and look at solutions for the non-networked.

Wow, I've even had a follow-up reply from Warren already, thought I might have to wait given time differences etc.

Warren is going to run some stats so we can get an idea of bandwidth requirements.

I don't know for sure, but based on the differing circumstances e.g. Australia not having tivo service and growing from a techy user base versus the UK having a diminishing but fully operational service, we are likely to be serving up the most users!

We should be prepared for a reasonable amount of bandwidth requirements!

All previous iterations of the Emulation service are unanimous on one thing and is that this cannot be run as a commercial venture!

I have other requests made from OZTivo to tend to now, but this is indeed very exciting times

I am sure there will be many offering whatever help they can but please put my name forward as a potential 'helper' although I'm not sure what I can do to assist there seems such a wealth of expertise out there.

This is good news.. but the board is a little confusing.. how far away or how close is the project to working?

The deadline is approaching and i'd like to know if i have to jump elsewhere for my PVR before its reached really..

Just noting that there are now only 6 weeks left to go how much chance is there will actually be a replacement service available on June 1st and/or do we think that June 1st is the last day of EPG data or the last day on which an EPG dial and update will be available from Tivo? If the latter will the full range of data up to 21 days ahead still be available on June 1st?

Speaking personally at that time of year it would not be a disaster if my Tivo could not work for a few weeks but I would be very keen to have my Tivo working again by the dark days of October. However I suspect that from a continuity and maximum continued use of the Tivo S1 species perspective that it is is vital to have a service working that supports at least the five main analogue channels (BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, C4 and Five) on 1st June.

What can I do to help. I suspect checking programming listings and getting one of my boxes to do test dial ups to the server would be the main area in which I could volunteer to do something.

I'm hoping no news is good news knowing that my 70yr old mother is some 80miles away, I'm hoping they will have been able to fix the dial up side of things or I'm going to have to drive down, re-image a drive and drive back

You did say she is 70 miles away and not 700 right? So being a good son I'm sure that you must see her at least once a month?

But if you really do only see her once a year despite being only 70 miles away I think all you will need to talk her through on the phone is adding a dial prefix code in the Tivo menus followed by re-running Guided Setup.

What I haven't seen any clarity on so far is whether any of our Season Passes or Wishlists will carry over from the Tivo EPG data to the AltEPG service as when I changed my platform from Freeview to NTL Cable and back to Freeview and later from Freeview to Sky Digital on the same box my Season Passes always carried over from one reception platform to another.

If all my Season Passes and Wishlists have to be created again from scratch it will be a bit of a bore although obviously worthwhile in the long run to have my Tivo still working.

Does the fact that analogue RF channels are no longer received mean that it's not possible to get an input from a set top box via RF? I currently have Sky though scart and freeview though the aerial - I've tried to set this up with altepg but no signal is received from the freeview box
