I assume what you are all working towards is a "Tivo emulator" that looks like the Tivo UI, but isn't running the Tivo software?

If so, what about all our various hacks and Tivoweb?

Will they still work - I'm not sure I can live without endpad and freespace for example (but if I had to just to keep my Tivo, I suppose I could)

They are working towards a "Tivo Server Emulator" to which our current Tivo software will talk, to replace the existing real Tivo Server.

The software on your box will still be the same Tivo software as now, possible with a few more "hacks" added to talk to the new server (or possibly not depending on how they get on...)
