Found an almost ideal STB but...

I've been weighting up various Freeview receivers with a view to integrating one inside the Tivo. The over-size Scart plug style ones in particular looked like a good option. So I picked up a 'Freescart FST-140' from Maplin for £20 a few weeks ago but have only got around to assessing it tonight.
Criteria:-
Small size - only 120mm x 60mm x 20mm in its case (even smaller without it)
Low power - 5V, 1A so should be able to run it off Tivo PSU.
Returns to last state - if switched on when it loses power (like the Sony)
Periodic channel rescan - could be useful with all the channel changes (interval and time can be changed).
Only stumbling block is the remote codes. Is there any other method besides the Pronto? I've got an IR to USB adapter and I've got a Palm.
