The rss is great, but I never see some topics, eg TVGuide. Are they configured to be delivered via it?

I gave up with it since most of the posts never arrived.

I get most of the posts, just a few topics that don't seem to come through. Nothing to do with the reader, as they don't appear on the feedburner site either.

I only get articles from forum "Board index ‹ Alternative EPG Project for UK TiVo's ‹ General". I, and I'm sure many others, would find it very useful for the TVGuide and other forums that are in "Alternative EPG Project for UK TiVo's", to be presented as an RSS feed. I want to know of guide data issues as soon as I they become available, and the best way for me to do this is via the RSS reader on my mobile, but that data is not being presented. Ideally, each forum would be presented as a separate feed.

I use the Pulse mobile app on the iPad for all my tech feeds, and I just checked, I have posts from other forums here, General, TVGuide, Installation etc.

I'll take a gander at the settings later to see if there's any tweaks possible.
I'm only using the standard phpbb module, I think there are better 3rd party modules that might be worth adding but I'm always reluctant to do too much customising as it can add headaches when the core forum software is updated in the future.

Installed Pulse on my Andriod phone, and this is showing the same behaviour as SparseRSS and Outlook. On the forums there are posts after the one above, but that is the last that is appearing in the feed. What url are you using for the feed?

Just a thought. Some topics require you to be logged in to view the content - do I need to embed username/password in the url for the RSS feeder ?

Yeah - I have noticed that, for example, I am not receiving the posts to the "What channels are we fetching data for?" thread within the Installation & Configuration section.

This is one of the threads for which you have to be logged in to read. So, as you suggest, it does look like the RSS feed doesn't work for the threads requiring log-in. Is there anything I can do to get these included in my RSS feed?

As lloyd suggests, will the below work achieve the desired aim? I assume not actually - so what can be done?

Bump...

I can confirm that the RSS feed is still not working - it only includes posts to the forums which don't require a login. i.e. it only includes posts to the "General" forum.

I notice that I did receive posts for other forums up until the 14 May, which I imagine was the date at which the log in requirement was established for all forums except "General".

I really miss not being able to keep in touch with this project via RSS - unfortunately I just don't have the time to browse the forum manually :(

Is there any way a workaround could be found to implementing a feed which includes topics from all forums? I appreciate that creating a feed which includes posts to all forums effectively breaks the security of the login requirement (for anyone who knows the url for the RSS feed). If this is undesirable, perhaps one workaround might be to configure the feed to include all forums, but then introduce some "security by obscurity" into the feed url i.e. something like http://feeds.feedburner.com/tivoland_3kdutg or even something less random, but only disclosed to those who request it.

The RSS feed URL could be distributed via PM, or more simply in a topic only accessible to those who have logged on. Just an idea? I hope it can be made to work?
