Number not available

I am getting altepg from the net for a few weeks now. Last successful call was fri 10th just after 7 pm.
I noticed this morning that a call failed just after 7 am. I forced a call which failed number unavailable. Tivo tried again on it's own just after 2pm today and failed.
I forced another call just now which again failed. Number unavailable.
Is there a fault or has something happened at this end.

I had this earlier in the week, and I discovered that although the TiVo was working all OK it had fallen off the network ( but lights on the switch showed it was ok, just no actual response to ping, telnet etc )
A reboot and all was OK again - weired

I did a reboot and a test call succeeded but then the daily call failed , number unavailable.
Re booted again and tried a daily call and it went through.
As you say, weird.

It seems if I reboot the tivo it will make one call and then other attempts will give number unavailable.
I added a switch recently could it be the reason.
The other tivo, also on the switch, still on the original set up is working ok

Do the two TiVos have static IP addresses or are they getting them by DHCP? If static, are you sure they are different?

That's often a sign there's no swapfile
Type this at the telnet prompt:
cat /proc/meminfowhich should show something like:
- Code: Select all
total: used: free: shared: buffers: cached:

Mine's now been up for 2 days since the re-boot and made 2 daily calls sucessfully.
I also have 2 tivo's on a switch ( and a PC running PPP to a third ) and neither of the others has suffered from this (That'll change now I expect
)
All the Tivos are on ALTEPG using downloaded images, and have been for some weeks

One on dhcp, the other fixed. Definately different.

I will try later.

I'm now consistently getting 'Failed: Number unavailable' on the programme call in Guided Setup. (network call using the AltEPG image)
This means that while I've been advised to do a 'clear and delete everything', I can't get out of Guided Setup to do it. I'm stuck in a loop.
Is there any way to break out of GS?

Are you using the number mentioned in
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=710 which has 60 lines available? If not, do you have the opportunity in GS to change the dial prefix?

I was using a network call. I changed that to use the dialup (0845 0800300) but same result - number unavailable.
I'm going to need to re-image the disk aren't I?

Checking the log, the dialup does actually seem to connect, but then the internal emulator seems to spit out the dummy.
Anyone know enough about it to interpret the log? (I've hashed out the service number)
