Tivo says downlad succesful but no listings update

I initially set up, connected and downloaded succesfully but now have a problem. Phone call is being made everyday and get a message telling me it's succesful but don't actually seem to have the listings updates. Now have guide data only until tomorrow. Any suggestions please?

I think something got corrupted. You can either spend days trying to work out what it was, or simply fix it. This fix appears to work.

1. Rerun GS - but change your provider - it matters not, what you change it to.
2. Deslect all the channles, the select the nonag channel.
3. make the call.
4. Repeat GS - this time selecting the provider(s) you really want

My experience is that it is much, much quicker to perform GS with only one or two channels selcted, allow GS and indexing to comlete. Then go back and revisit the Channels I receive - select all the real ones, and repeat the call. If you have TivWebPlus - this makes it just incredibly easy to do as you can pick the channels in a web browser and force the call from there. This means that it can be done whilst someone else is using the TiVo to watch recordings

With Free Satellite channels from Sky, the second call took less than 10 minutes until the data showed up in the guide.

Very interesting! When you say "repeat the call", do you mean re-run GS or just make a normal daily call? Maybe the first daily call after a GS is "special".

What happens if you try to create recordings on the channels you've added since the first GS, but before you make that second call? Does it have guide data available?

Thank you Ian. I did as you suggested and that does seem to have fixed things for now. Will see what happens at the next dial up! Melanie

I mean force a call - to grab the latest data

Sorry, I'm afraid I don't know - having not tried it - however, there was certainly data available. At the time I discovered this, I had been testing various things, before putting the TiVo "into production" - and got fed up with GS falling over or taking forever.

Glad it worked for you...

If it happens again, this is quite a painless way of restoring it - as not having to do any C&Ds, means it will preserve all your recordings, SPs etc.
