Does anyone know the weight of the (original boxed up) Scenium? The specification in the user guide makes no mention of it, and its too heavy for my kitchen scales!

Thanks,
Ben

Thanks Rachel. I am sending my Dad my older machine so he can get into the Tivo world (aged 90!) :)

All the above is without much or any insurance or tracking.

It's £22.70 if you want it insured and tracked via RM special delivery ( the £12.67 figure is untracked delivery and has a max of £46 compensation...)
Similar story with parcel2go - insured for just £20 value - have to pay extra for more.

As for the ebay comment, send an ebay sale item via an untracked method, and you're giving away the goods :x

Agreed, you take your life (and bank balance) in your hands if you bid over £20 on anything... :|

Thanks again.

But if you've got proof of posting (i.e. a counter receipt from the post office) then you are covered for £41 insurance if the buyer claims they didn't receive it.

Or if you think your tivo is worth more than £41 then £16.40 with Royal Mail Standard Parcel will cover you up to £100.
Or £8.50 total with parcel2go and includes a signature.
Heck you can even send it normal First Class Signed For for £16.59 (£46 insurance).

I'm sorry but there really is no need to use Special Delivery and charge £22.70.

..without proof of delivery (which paypal needs - otherwise the buyer can instantly get his money back via paypal - you have to be careful on ebay).

Next day guaranteed delivery before 1pm with £500 insurance - other options give neither of those.

There are circumstances when that's best (I mentioned it for balance)
- granted not if its a bog standard tivo worth under £40 and the buyer isn't too bothered about delivery times.
