Tracker Module and TivoWeb / TivoWeb Plus

Hi All

I'm currently using TW 1.9.4 installed and am 'patiently' waiting for the Tracker Module and TMSids to be incorporated. I am trying to bide my time wading through the toDo list to delete shows I am not interested in.

I am trying to keep track of the progress of the above but it's quite confusing to me, especially seeing lots of updates of various files. So:

- Should I wait until there is a stable release of the Tracker Module and a finalisation of the TMSids?
- Will the Tracker Module be compatible with 1.9.4?
- Is it worth upgrading to TW+ 2.1.3?
- Is there going to be a AltEPG version of TW 1.9.4 and/or TWP 2.1.3b?

The questions probably show how confused I am, so apologies in advance if I have everything mixed up

Thanks in advance

Paul

There's already a thread for this, only a few below this one!
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=608

Spitfires has done great work with modifications for 4 versions of tivoweb, and I've also merged in all my changes I've made over the last couple of years. Last week I modified for both TmsId-AltEPG data and the current AltEPG data.

You should be able to use this version now (in a limited capacity without TmsIds, but it causes fewer problems than before), and continue using it when we have TmsIds in the data. But we need more testers - please get it from the end of that thread and check it's all ok.

Spitfires has produced patches for TW/TW+ to work with the current AltEPG - just a few minor patches are all that is required. Again there's a thread for those.

It will probably be a little while yet before the Tracker functionality is fully available. In the meantime you could consider switching to TWP 2.1. This has a "Blocklist" module which I don't think (from memory) exists in TW 1.9.4. This allows you to automatically flag programmes in your ToDo list which match a title or partial title/description/channel/showing time
Entries in the Title Blocklist (left) are compared against titles in the To-Do and Scheduled Suggestions lists, and any matches are flagged for deletion.

Entries in the Blocking Patterns (right) are compared against episode names, descriptions and showing day/time in the same lists, and any matches are also flagged. Entries in this list may include the wildcards ? for matching any character and * for matching any string; logical AND combinations may be expressed as "string1+string2" (eg "Everwood+Thu 13:" will match Everwood at 1pm on Thursdays); patterns can be negated with a ! (eg "Rugby+!TV1" would match Rugby only if it was not on TV1).

(I actually use this module and not the Tracker module  ;) )

Or you could volunteer to test the new Tracker module as per Mr Tickle's note :)

Hi MrTickle, Spitfires

Yes I had seen the threads that you had referred to but with Tracker, I wasn't sure whether it was usable publicly .

I've installed v3.1.9 in TW1.9.4 and will see how it goes. Is there away it can re-process the history again, or will I have to start from scratch again? I'll have to wait a while before it starts to work properly.

There is a Blocklist 'module' which integrates into the ToDo list in 1.9.4 which I am using, but I can't remember where I picked it up!

Thanks again to both of you and the rest of the team for all your efforts!

Paul

Cool. I'm afraid you have to start again with new blocklists - NB you won't get anything added to the tracker blocklists unless you're a tester for the TmsId data. If you are very confident you could hand-modify the 'series' file and keep all the tribune data for reference. I did this by adding " (Tribune)" on the series titles, eg
Code: Select all
SH01176165 {{The Rob Brydon Show (Tribune)}} 1 0 1 0

in this case, also keep file "SH01176165" in the directory.

That can't be used for future blocking, but can be used to refer to.

For now you will however have the tracker's series called "unknown" filling up with series and episode titles, so that later you'll have a separate record of what you've watched. Not ideal but better than nothing.
