Failure to record programmes

Postby steveroe » Sun Nov 29, 2015 9:56 pm

Something weird is going on with my Tivo that I've never seen before. I run with the Freeview platform.

On Friday "Have I Got News For You" 21:30 on BBC1SE failed to record. I know it was scheduled to record as it was listed in my dailymail that morning. Nothing else recorded in its place, there is no entry in "Recording History" and it isn't listed in my Saturday dailymail.

The same thing happened with the 21:00 episode of "The Bridge" on BBC4 Saturday and tonight's 21:00 episode of "The Hunt" on BBC1SE. Even odder is my Tivo now showing it will record the repeat of "The Hunt" next Sunday afternoon.

I've never seen this before and three programmes in three days seems too much to be a coincidence. Has anyone else had similar problems?

Okay, four programs in four days. London Spy at 21:00 on BBC2 vanished without a trace tonight.

Okay, clues in /var/log/tverr:

Nov 29 20:57:10 (none) VideoGuts[334]: RecordingTunerResult 2057 DENIED due to internal error
Nov 30 20:57:10 (none) VideoGuts[334]: RecordingTunerResult 2159 DENIED due to internal error

A Google for "videoguts denied" only returns one related result: http://tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showth ... p?t=383685

With no solution!

Will reboot when it's idle.

Fingers crossed - looks like the reboot has cured this

Good news. For weird things like this is could be all manner of things, a dodgy PSU is the simplest, failing motherboard (!) , but I'd try a reboot in the first instance as you did
