I think you probably forgot to use the  emoticon at the end of the above statement. :P

Anyhow thanks for increasing my knowledge of the English language as I seem to have got through these 48 years up to now without ever having come across pleonasms despite in your view quite clearly perpetrating them on a regular basis.

I toyed between a full stop and an exclamation mark, but in the end thought it would be obvious sarcasm

Note that 0845 dialup internet numbers will not generally be included in call bundles even for those who have Anytime or similar call plans with their telco.

I've just disovered this number: 02079061000

Its a UUNET geographic dial-up number. Test call worked, just trying a daily call.

This should be included in call bundles (hopefully!)

Well done. I agree this number should normally be covered in call bundles by virtually all telcos.

However my fear is that all this will only be a short term gain and that in a few more days time Tivo will decommission the actual server that supports the Tivo S1 machines or alternatively have the URL and ip address that point to it withdrawn. Alternatively they may perhaps simply mark all Service numbers associated with S1 UK Tivos as Status 8 Account Closed. :(

I hope that none of my suggestions will be right and that the Tribune EPG for the UK Series 1 machines will instead continue to be available via network card internet access or through the UUNet 0845 and 020 dialup number alternatives to the now blocked (for access to the Tivo servers) UUNet 0808 Freephone number.

My daily call worked - data was downloaded and indexed, however my Programme Guide Data to date has not changed, its remained as Saturday 2 Jul 2011.

My BBC 1 data seems to be until Sat June 25 - don't know what it was before the call though so I can't say if this increased.

My Programme Guide Data To: date here on a Sky Freesat setup is Wednesday 6 Jul 2011 following the network card based Daily Call at 8pm tonight. I don't know if the Programme Data To date would be shorter for a Tivo using the Freeview/DTT EPG?

My BBC 1 data seems to be until Sat June 25 - don't know what it was before the call though so I can't say if this increased.

That is to be expected as the BBC data is only updated once a week on Saturday by another 7 days to 14 days and then declines down to 7 days by the time of the next update the following Saturday.

This is to confirm that I also just ran a successful daily call on my Freeview dialup Tivo with 020 7906 1000 in the Dial Prefix field (no pauses needed and no ringback problem occurs as the line is always free to receive incoming calls) and that it grabbed and processed data for several days since its last update on Sunday 12th June.

However it is only now showing as having Programme Guide Data To: Sunday 3 Jul 2011 compared to Sunday 6 Jul 2011 for my Cachecarded Sky Freesat EPG TIvo even though if I check the listings for Challenge Tv or Magic Radio (two channels in the Freeview line up which still have the full 21 days worth of EPG data) I find that they both have programs listed until 12am on 6th July 2011.

As I don't normally keep detailed track of the EPG status of this only occasionally used Freesat source Tivo box I am unable to say whether having a shorter Programme Guide Data To date for a Tivo with a Freeview EPG compared to a Sky Freesat EPG is a normal state of affairs or not. Those who only have a Freeview sourced Tivo EPG should know for how many days ahead the Programme Guide Data To date normally is.

A successful TiVo call in the last 12 hours or so should say "Guide Data To: Wednesday 6 July 2011" and for many channels (not BBC/ITV/C4/5) should have full listings for 5 July.

My SkyOne has RoadWars at 12am on 6th July.

I've looked back again this morning and it does now state that Guide Data is to 6 July.

Must have just been taking a long time to update, despite the fact that all the processing had apparently finished after the download!

As I understand it the "loading data" percentage you see in the Phone Connection menu (also in System Information but that doesn't auto-update) is just unpacking and copying the new "slice". It still needs to indexed which takes an hour or so before the new data appears in the EPG. The Next Sheduled Call time is updated when indexing is finished.

I have just checked my Freeview connected Tivo again and it now shows a Programme Guide Data To: date of Wednesday 6 Jul 2011

I suppose I was forgetting that the whole Tivo update cycle including Indexing probably takes a good deal longer to complete on a standard Tivo than a Tivo with a Cachecard and 512MB of RAM.

In any event for those with an Anytime calls package there is now a way to continue receiving official Tivo S1 service for as long as it continues via a London 020 number that can be guaranteed to be covered by all inclusive calling plans. :D
