They only seem to be a very small ISP so perhaps fly below the radar.

However not all landline phone companies include 0845 numbers in their evening and weekend or anytime inclusive calling allowances.

I have just made another successful forced manual daily call at 1pm today to 02079061000 with my dialup only Tivo and the data is Loading right now and it currently at 32% with 18 minutes to go. Strangley when the Tivo tried to call on its own at 4am this morning it reports that it did not get a reply from 02079061000 so I don't know if this number only answer calls between certain times and not overnight.

I can also report that www.18185.co.uk can be successfully used to make these calls at only a fixed 5p a call even though the call takes a bit longer to complete than with a normal BT connection.

Yes me too (about some new JML shopping channels I think it was).

The important one will be Sundays download which will have another weeks worth of main channel data.

I'm normally a pessimist but strangely enough I actually would put money on getting another weeks worth of BBC and ITV EPG data over the weekend either by network card or using the 020 or 0845 Tivo dialup numbers in the dial prefix code menu.

If Tivo were going to cut us off before this weekend they would have done it earlier on in the week. People are usually winding down at the office on a Friday.....

We'll know more after tomorrow morning's new data. If there's no C4 data still, and no C5/ITV data either then it would be virtually unprecedented for all 5 classic analogue channels to be delayed until a Sunday.

Just forced a daily call (network) and got C4, C5 & ITV1 data for another week (up to 6am Sat 2nd July) :D Image

I just tried the 02079061000 and got a Failed. Number not answered message.

Looks like that option might be gone too.

Maybe it is because this line is apparently not available at all hours. It seems likely that it is closed at weekends, so now we look forward to Monday. :wink:

The 020 number doesn't seem to be available all the time.

Try the 0845 number instead as that seems to be open 24/7.

If somebody reading this thread also has a Virgin Tivo I think it would be very interesting to see some comparisons on when a new weeks C4, BBC etc data becomes available on the Virgin Tivo compared to the S1 Tivo and similarly at what time each evening a new day's EPG data 21 days ahead becomes available for the other non terrestrial channels.

My betting is that the time when the data becomes available to an S1 Tivo and a Virgin Tivo is identical as they are both being fed by the same data source (i.e TMS/Tribune Media Services).

how do you change the tivo phone number on an unmodded series 1? just tried the usual number (not sure which i am dialling) for normal EPG and get call not answered, want to try the 0845 one.

Yep. So not unprecedented, C4 was just a day late. Cool. So hopefully in tomorrow morning's new data we'll have the BBC channels. Image Image

I'm perfectly sure that the same TMS data feeds on to Tivo's servers to also support Virgin Media customers and that if one checks when new data becomes available on a Virgin Tivo for the terrestrial channels it will be the same day that it becomes available to a Tivo S1.

So the only question is are Tivo going to take any further active steps to cut off UK S1 customers accessing the data over the internet by network cards or over phone numbers which Tivo don't have to subsidise (i.e. UUNet 0845 number rather than the UUnet 0808 Number). It clearly wouldn't have been difficult for them to have cut off all UK S1 customers from getting any more EPG data on June 2nd via a simple batch run of Tivo Service Codes changing their account status to Closed if they had wanted to.

My impression is that the technical staff in Alviso quite clearly do not either support or accept what is being done to UK S1 customers so they are therefore only following to the absolute minimum any instructions they get from management to alter things rather than proactively taking all possible steps to close off every last possible avenue by which a UK Tivo S1 customer can continue to receive EPG service.

However I expect in due course some miserable senior management b**t**d at Virgin Media will no doubt complain that they hear their UK exclusive over the Tivo service is not being adhered to and the remaining means for S1 UK Tivo to access TMS EPG data will be cut off. The stupid thing is that its pure dogma as I bet Tribune's additional charge to supply data to also cover the UK S1 machines as well as the much larger number of Virgin Tivos that will soon be out there would be absolutely tiny. So long as the Sky S1 customer service centre is closed down and the 0808 Freephone calls service withdrawn then the cost of continuing to provide S1 machines with EPG data via internet access or an 0845 dialup number is absolutely negligible for Tivo. So S1 machines being cut off from TMS EPG data is clearly down to just adhering to a commercial agreement that in the UK Tivo is now exclusively only Virgin Media's PVR and EPG interface. :evil:
