mfs_ftp - Unable to import

Hi,

I'm trying to import some programmes (tmf format) into my TiVo using mfs_ftp, but with no joy.

My TiVo’s "port.3105.log" contains the following error:

bgerror invoked with error
 
 " invalid object type "

re-initializing mfs_ftp

close the current ftp connection and simply open another

"core dump" :p


My FTP client is FileZilla, using port 3105.

I can connect successful, get directory listings successful, but unable to upload files.

I’ve tried both passive and active modes.

There is no firewall involved.

My TiVo is a fresh "altepg-1.0c.iso" image.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

This seems to be due to a problem with a patch that has been included in the version of mfs_ftp included in the altepg build.
Not got to the bottom of it, but I think the fault you're describing arises in the file /var/hack/mfs_ftp/p2.tcl
If you remove this file and restart mfs_ftp, upload seems to work.
Can't promise that that is a reliable fix though - I haven't used mfs_ftp before.

Thanks, deleting p2.tcl fixed the problem. Managed to upload 200GB without incident.

The p2.tcl patch was introduced to fix a problem when a TiVo had 200+ recording. It was probably intended for S2+ TiVos.
