What's in a name?

Postby spitfires » Fri Feb 25, 2011 9:14 am

What are we going to call our new TiVo setup? We can't really call it "UKTivo" since TiVo is a registered trademark, and TiVo Inc (and probably VM too) will justifiably get upset.

Although I suppose it's hard for them to send "cease and desist" letters if we don't have a postal/e-mail address they can send it to! :P

That won't stop them; they'd go after any hosting..

OpenEPG? uk domains are available, and .net is soliciting enquiries.

I've bought the domain 'epg.me.uk' for the machine we're using...

But not with the capitalised V - double-whammy, irritate both TiVo and Virgin at the same time!

Freevo is a good name, but yups, it's already being used for similar purposes, so would only cause confusion..

epg.me.uk is nice.

MyVO (capitalise both V and O to avoid "passing off" if "xxVo" was used).

or

MeVO (rhymes with TiVo  )
