Tivo rebooting during remote control use

Hi,
My TiVo had hung. Live TV was not showing so I unplugged the unit.
Started up fine - but programs recorded today were zero in lengh. After a few minutes using the remote, changing channel, looking at menus and the TiVo reboots itself (TiVo epg startup). Done this several times this evening, but if I don't use the remote I don't seem to get this.

Any ideas please? I upgraded the hdd (1 Tb) about 2 months ago and it seemed fine - just took the plunge and ordered a cachecard, So really hope I haven't ordered this only to have my TiVo die on me.

My hunch would be to suspect the power supply.

Upgrading the hard drive may have pushed it over its maximum rating limit. But this is only a hunch. Diagnosing such problems can be very difficult indeed without a supply of spare parts to swap around until the problem moves or disappears.

thanks - I thought that but wasn't sure why use of the remote should highlight it?
