Hi,
I recently had to buy a new freesat box as my old one broke. The old one was a Bush make as is the new one. The code I used before was the BUSH (UK) code 20074, I am still using this code for the new box but even though it works it quite often changes channel wrong as it is too fast for the box (it is set on the slow setting). Does anyone know what other code might work with this Bush freesat box that I could try as I am forever missing programs as it does not change the channel correctly. The other code for BUSH (UK) does not work at all.

I bought a Bush freesat a while back when having problems with Sky (Frre) .. it was awful .. missing channels, as you say .. also switched for a few seconds to CBBC & Cbeebies when going to BBC3 & BBC4 ..

Eventually got the Sky freesat going OK .. probably the best bet is to pick up an old sky box on Ebay (Mine is a Sony Circa 1998) works beatifully ..

Still have not found a code for our Bush box and hate sky so do not want to go back down that route. Does anybody know what other Freesat HD boxes will work with the TiVo so we can sell the Bush one and buy a new one that will work?

Why exactly is the problem with Sky? If it's the monthly subscription cost you might want to look at the "FreesatFromSky" option which costs less than a fiver a year.

The "back down that route" heavily implies that huckle had a Sky Digibox in the past - perhaps you didn't realise that an expired Sky subscription card automatically becomes a FreeSatFromSky card giving access to all the encrypted free channels? Once you've got a Digibox it's your property forever from day one (not from the end of the first year), so there's no need to buy any new Freesat(tm) hardware if you don't want to.

When I said I did not want to go back down that route with sky it was that we had a lot of trouble even though we only had the free channels from sky. I do still have the sky digibox but do not want to go back to using it as for the past couple of years we have had a HD Freesat box and do not want to go back to watching SD channels if possible, even though the recorded program's are not HD on the TiVo we still watch a lot of live tv in HD.

So if anyone is using a HD Freesat box that will definitely work with the TiVo, could they let me know the make and model please?

Have you considered using the old Sky digibox as a dedicated tuner for the TiVo and the Bush Freesat for your live viewing? Of course you would need a second downlead from the dish and possibly a new LNB if the existing one is not already a twin or quad.

You will have the advantage of being able to watch one channel while TiVo is recording another (as well as TiVo reliably recording the wanted programme).

I have a Humax Foxstat HD receiver that I must admit is not currently wired through the Tivo, as I generally use a sony Freeview receiver, but I am reliably informed that the Tivo code for the Foxstat is 20073

Hi, we cannot use two seperate boxes as when TiVo announced it was going to stop we were thinking of getting a Humax twin tuner Freesat box, but we only have a single feed so would need a new LNB fitting and an extra wire going all through the house and as it is under wood flooring and behind skirting board at the minute we do not want the hassle of fitting another properly or having another wire trailing about the place.
Will probably just have to look for a used Bush box on EBay like the one we had before, or can anyone confirm that the Humax foxstat will definitely work as they are using it?

I'm no satellite expert or anything, but have you researched sending two lbn signals through the same cable? Maplin used to sell coupler/decouplers of two or more tv signals. Also have a look at the satcure website. It may be discussed in one of the ebooks (free) and products (http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page15a.htm#2split1). I haven't done it myself, but thought it could be possible.

FYI - The Humax Foxsat HDR will operate with a single LNB feed. It is more limited in this mode but dual recording is still possible in some circumstances (the channels must use the same band and polarisation).

No, none of those splitter or coupler things will allow you to put 2 LNBs on a single cable. For one thing each LNB can be switched into 4 different modes (2 polarisations and 2 local oscillator frequencies). This is done by a choice of two different voltages (13 v or 18 v) and a 22kHz tone sent up the cable.

There is a device called a "stacker". See http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/stacker.htm but they no longer sell it. I seem to remember these things were quite expensive - comparable to getting someone in to running another cable. And the OP would probably need to get someone in anyway to fit a new LNB if he only has a single.
