A post-2.5.5 software update would require a lot of work and testing which they just wouldn't do, and would cost them a lot of money.

I can't see any reason for them to change anyone's account status, unless it's to one which will defeat any nag screens.
If they were being decent they'd add some guide data for 10 years in the future so you would't get the " out of guide data" nags either.

It's a year this weekend since the Tribune data stopped and I along with many users re-ran GS to get the AltEPG data. Happy birthday to my AltEPG-fed TiVo
