Delete fails to remove programme - Help!

Postby rory822 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 10:46 am

Hi folks,
First odd issue I've ever had with my TiVo (honestly!): there's a programme in the Now Playing list that I simply can't delete. It has the little red circle "recording" icon next to it, despite having been recorded a few days ago. If I try to delete it, everythings seems to go as normal (no warnings from TiVo), but it's still there afterwards.
If I look in the To Do list, it's still there at the top... despite being in the past.

I've also tried using tivoweb, but in this instance I actually get a "delete failed" message.

Any suggestions as to how best remove this "zombie" programme?

Cheers,
Steve

hmm.
a) I assume you've already tried rebooting?
b) failing that does the TiVo allow you to Stop the recording, as it thinks it is in progress? From the ToDo list, press right on the entry and stop it. Failing that try the same from Now Playing.
c) also try the above with a real recording in progress.
d) after that I'd be suspecting a corruption in MFS so would for a green screen MFS disc check. It's one of the kick-start codes.

Thanks for the reply!
The simplest solutions are usually the best, and a reboot did indeed clear it.
I'll know to try that first next time; sorry for the bother :?

No problem at all, it's quite unusual (I don't remember hearing of that before) and shouldn't really happen. So always worth investigating :)
