This has got me soooo excited! I thought I was doomed to go with Sky+ (which is just still so remedial in comparison). You guys are the d*gsb****cks. Will it be easy for us to implement when you're done (I have a networked TiVo)?

Again... great stuff

This is really great progress! All I've managed to do in the last couple of months is to secure a second TiVo off eBay (which I still have not even opened, could be a box of bricks). for £10.

Can anyone suggest what I should do next? Shall I order a larger hard drive + a network card, and get all that installed with a new image?

I'm keen to help if I can, even if it's just testing, but I have been very short on time (working most evenings with overtime at the moment) although that's coming to an end soon.

Just to add my thanks to the list. Great to see the progress being made - my retired in-laws will be pleased to know that there will be life yet in their Tivos.
To echo an earlier question - is the intention to deploy the US Series 1 V3.0 software, or will the UK 2.5.5 base be used? The US 3.0 only supports composite and S-Video , not RGB, hence my question.

We will be primarily supporting 2.5.5.
Version 3 works, but despite the significant gap in the numbering scheme, there is very little real difference between the OS's and a list of negatives including NTSC menu's etc that make 2.5.5 the obvious preferred choice.

Do you have a 'soft date' that a beta will be released for testing by us mere mortals

Tinkering with TiVo's since 2000, now have 8 lifetime sub S1 TiVo's in various states of upgrade/hacked condition & 4 non-lifetime sub TiVo's, too boring to list all the details but most have upgraded HD's & network cards

Can I ask will the Tivo with it guide and layout at the moment we see on our Tivo change at all when the hard drive is update and starts to use the new EPG will we notice anything new in the Tivo that we are not seeing now ?

Just wanted to add my thanks to the chorus here. All your effort at saving TiVo is incredibly appreciated. I don't live in a Virgin Media area and even though we already have Sky, I was dreading the thought of having to give up on friendly TiVo and get Sky+. Can I suggest you set up a paypal account or something so that we can send donations to say thanks? If you can save my TiVo I owe you big time. :-)

The menus and user interface will be the same which is kinda why so many TiVo users want to keep being TiVo users!
