Soft Padding inactive

The daily email I am getting from the TiVo my bro-in-law is using is saying .... 'Soft Padding not currently active' ..

Why should it have suddenly changed and how do we make it active again ..?

So it was saying "Soft padding is active." but now it says "Soft padding is not currently active!" ?

In which case it's likely that endpad has stopped for some reason. Either restart it manually (if you have telnet access to the TiVo), or restart the TiVo (assuming endpad is set to load on startup).

I haven't got remote access to it, and in the current situation it's hardly wise to go over to B.I.Ls place to do it, so he'll have to go into uncharted territory and do a restart, though probably easiest way for that is to switch it off and on at the wall ..

Yeah that's all I do. Switch off...count to 3...switch on.
