Dial up service is down?

Postby stevegutteridge » Fri Jun 24, 2022 3:19 pm

My TiVo box hasn't made a successful phone call since Tuesday and when I listen in to the call there is a recorded message saying the line is temporarily unavailable.

Is there a problem?

Server stats show only 1,2 and 3 successful calls for the last 3 days instead of the usual 15 so something's wrong.

I'm also having no success with the modem dial up program guide call. Sometimes TiVo's test call reports success, however the program guide call is failing every time (using the standard modem connection).
I have another TiVo with a Turbonet card that gets its AltEPG program data via the internet - that is still working.
Looks like there may issues at the AltEPG HQ with their analogue modem farm? Hey AltEPG team, can that be checked please? - thanks

Same here.
Last successful call: Friday 17 June
Last Call Status: Failed - phone is busy.

Can't live without the TiVo!

Just checked another thing... If you dial TiVo's land line AltEPG modem number 0161 232 9094 on a regular phone, there is a message that says 'the number that you are calling is temporarily unavailable'

Just realised Tivo can't phone home (get so used to it just working).
phone number gives "the number that you are calling is temporarily unavailable"

Anyone got any clues?

The kind people at Exa Networks who generously provide our phone service are looking into it. Hopefully we can restore dial-up access soon.

BT are "on their way" to fix the fault. So we all know what that means...

I'm really pleased that the TiVo dial-up service is back up and running.
Thanks so much to everyone involved!

Exa Networks believe the engineer has fixed the issues with the dial-up connection. So hopefully you are all working again now. :D
