Use the date of the programme as the title

Yes, I have done that. I don't think it will appear in the data until the 19th June programmes.

My personal preference would be for the "(sNNeNN)" identifiers to be added at the end of the title, instead of inserted at the start of the synopsis. (For those who don't know this is extra data in the TVguide database, that wasn't in Tribune's system, that has to be piggy-backed onto other text if it is going to be seen by tivo users).

My reasoning is because it would be instantly visible in Tivoweb pages without having to go to the descriptions or hover over each one. More importantly it would then also be saved by the Tracker module (which doesn't save the descriptions, only episode titles). It would look virtually the same on the TiVo UI in a programme details page, and in the info you get when you press Right on the remote during playback of a programme.

if added at end, it wouldnt be visible at all in episode list where it is probably most useful

It would on tivoweb but not in the UI. Only on some screens - the details screen would show all 3 pieces of info whereever you put it.

The problem with the UI is that it truncates the titles so savagely on the Upcoming Episodes screen (then compounds the problem by wasting screen space with massive gaps, am/pm nonsense instead of using the 24hr clock which would be a lot shorter, channel numbers that are irrelevant, etc), that if you decide that the sNNeNN must take priority over the episode title, your only option would be to put it at the start of the title! This means you'd never actually see the episode titles on that screen It's good information to have but personally I wouldn't say it's more important than the real title, if it's known. IMHO of course.
