Is this a standard series 1 ?

I thought the Virgin Tivos were minimum 500Gb, vs the old 40Gb series 1s ?

The next week's worth of Channel 4 data (18th-24th June) has now been added to the Tribune service.

Channel 4 weekly data actually seems to be added a day or so earlier than BBC, ITV and Channel 5 weekly data but nobody has ever spotted this in the previous ten or so years because up to now nobody has been watching the EPG feed quite so closely.

The same thing happened last week.

Many of us have known this for years - anyone who regularly checks their To Do list in tivoweb will see this clearly.

Careful Pete you are spouting your own personal understanding as "fact" again.

Quite. I for one noticed it when I was developing my guide data checker module, in 2002.

I posted about it yesterday just to update this thread to help people. So that anyone fretting about not enough 'phone lines being available for altEPG or things like that, can calm down a bit as it was a good indication we'll get another full week of data from Tribune.

(Today ITV and C5 data has been added)

How do you get back to the old EPG once you've tried the ALTEPG?

Further to my previous posts in this thread [www.tivoland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=584&start=30#p4680] I tried a test call (as suggested by philg) earlier today. Status is now "5: Lifetime Service", when before it was "4:TiVo Internal Testing". Previously I was a monthly subscriber! A full call has updated the EPG data another 2 weeks. Has this happened to anyone else?

I've just checked my Tivo. Last call (network) was last night. It seems they haven't (yet) turned off the old EPG. I guess I'll wait until it vanishes before trying to use the AltEPG.

I guess you'll have to do the "clear clear enter enter" trick to set the dial config back to zero

Then redo a guided setup?

Only guessing though.....

This evenings update has pushed my epg out to July 1st :)

I'm a day early for the "terrestrial" updates though, so I'll be dialling Tivo inc again tomorrow

I do wish it'd either END or someone would announce that it's NOT ENDING - being in limbo is not a good place to be

Just do a Clear Guide Data and Delete Thumbs and remove any AltEPG related Dial Prefix you have in the unit and then run Guided Setup as normal. I have already done this with my Lifetimed unmodified dialup only Tivo unit with no issues. I only deleted the Guide Data before doing the Guided Setup in case Tivo was upset by seeing non Tribune format AltEPG data. I left all my recordings on the unit and they were all preserved during the Guided Setup process back to Tribune EPG.

I would not follow the advice given above about messing round with clear clear enter enter codes etc. This might well leave you with a bricked and unusable Tivo.

How does going back from AltEPG to the old EPG cope with Wishlists? I had to delete all the actors WL's as they were in the wrong format; Joe Bloggs for the AltEPG and Bloggs,Joe for the old EPG.
Looks like too much work to go back, but be interresting to see how long the old EPG stays up for.

I wouldn't switch back if I were you, as you say too much work. By the way, the team are hoping to switch the Actors back to the lastname, firstname format to match TiVo's own sorting and onscreen help text. Apologies in advance but you may have to re-enter them anyway.
