To use this 0845 number I presume I put this number in the prefix section?

Correct but expect to be charged for it even if you have any Anytime calls plan as known 0845 dialup numbers are excluded from your free calls allowance.

My Tivo has now finished updating and is showing as having "Programme Guide Data To: Monday 4 Jul 2011" and a check of channel 148 (CBS Action) confirms that it has EPG date until end of day on July 4th. :D

It depends who your provider is.... Talktalk don't charge for 0845 number at evenings and weekends as standard.

But they do charge for calling known 0845 dialup internet numbers 24/7 as do all other telecoms providers including BT, TalkTalk and Primus.

So calling this 0845 number from your Tivo won't be free even if you call it in the weekday evening or at the weekend.

But at least the 0845 number is a work around until we get enough lines from EXA running 8)

Agreed.

I suppose they will probably also get round to cutting off access via the 0845 number and via network card downloads in due course. Of course I'm not complaining if they don't.............

Why not just do an update on sunday when epg data for bbc & itv are available then unplug cable till following week. Saves getting a large phone bill!

Agreed that in view of the increasingly high per call connection charge with most phone companies that this seems like the most sensible thing to do but requires you to remember to plug and unplug the phone lead at the right time and also means you will miss any more last minute program schedule changes.

Also the other risk is that Tivo may have cut off the 0845 number for Tivo data calls by the next weekend......

I'm not deliberately belligerent. Its just that I have a journalistic type mind (I look at all the political and policy factors at work in what has happened) whilst you have a technical person's mind (i.e. you look at what needs to be done technically to continue to provide us with an EPG service and take the view that why we have been cut off is little interest to you).

Out of interest Spitfire, do you find Pete condescendingly telling you what you think and what character you have a deeply annoying as I do when he does it to me?

Pete, I wouldn't say journalistic, more conspiracy theorist.

Not strictly true - See my earlier post (viewtopic.php?f=16&t=596&start=45#p4994)

Indeed.
It does amuse me that when this all kicked off back in January, I was the one demanding to know what TiVo Inc. were planning and demanding they announced their plans, while Pete kept saying I should shut-up and not ask questions. Doesn't sound like a "journalistic type mind" to me! ;)

My network call now seems to consistently fail with 'Call Interrupted'. Hmm.

A journalistic type mind yet didn't notice for many years that Channel 4's weekly data appeared earlier than the other channels. How embarrassing!
