Wishlists

Surprisingly, I haven't really used wishlists much but found some odd results today when I tried.

I was trying to set up an autorecord wishlist that would pick up 2 shows on the food network, namely:

DC Cupcakes
Ace of Cakes

Using TiVoWebPlus, search module, I tried :

*cakes - this rebooted the TiVo - and yes, I did it twice, just to be sure!
cake - this picked up Ace of Cakes, but not DC Cupcakes

So it seems that we can use a trailing *, but not a preceding * - or have I missed something crucial?

yes I think I've read that before somewhere (that leading * causes reboot).

The onscreen help does say "match all endings".
It's nasty to reboot if you enter a * though, it's obviously running out of memory when it matches too many programmes. The UI should catch that and stop you. Wonder if they've fixed that in the the Virgin Tivo.

After I had done it, the thought occurred to me that was probably why it had done so, but it was too instantaneous to have been that really - it f it had rebooted after a few seconds, then fair enough but it was immediate.

And the onscreen help is no good in TiVoWeb...
