You don't need to install the Terbonet card to use serial PPP. However you do still need to mount the drive in a PC if you've not installed network/serial drivers already (so you won't gain anything by using serial if you already have a Terbonet card).

I don't think I made my self clear:
I have a terbonet card in a jiffy bag.
I like the idea of
1) unscrewing the lid of TiVo and putting terbonet card on motherboard and cable through a hole in the case
2) plugging network card into router
3) using PPP to make changes to TiVo script to use IP over dial up
It's just me being lazy.
I also thought that the drivers were somehow in version 2.5,5 of TiVo.
I'll just have to bite the bullet and do it properly when I've got a couple of hours and I've got sick of the busy tone on AltEPG.
