Hi,

First Run Only under season pass, does this still work?

Just want to make sure I am not doing something wrong.

I would also add (IMHO) that "you shouldn't have been using it anyway" because it's so heavily dependant on the data being perfect. Only a tiny minority of SPs ever benefited from it anyway - ie those with old and new series being shown on the same channel concurrently. I missed so many premieres of new Simpsons episodes on Sky 1 because of Tribune's duff data in the past, I stopped using it years ago. All moot points really as the TVguide Db doesn't support original air dates.

It happens when you follow the onscreen help:

Press SELECT on
-the letters to spell title keywords
-SP to add a space
-DEL to delete a single letter
-CLR to delete all the keywords

Press PAUSE to add a quotation mark.
Press SLOW to match all endings.
Examples:
"Star Wars"
Raiders Ark

When you press SLOW (the button under PAUSE on the remote), a * appears

ps. To crash your tivo create a title wishlist for ** and then do "View all upcoming WishList programmes".

Haha - that's a cruel trick on the poor ole tivo - shouldn't crash really though.

Handy tip: rewind works as delete on all those ouji board text entry screens.

Indeed. If only there was a back/forward cursor. Noticing that you've made a typo at the beginning of a very long word is painful

Yep, the VM Tivo is the same, a bit surprising to see noone thought to rectify that in the many s/w revisions we've had over 10 years ...

Well if it's any consolation, from "Channels You Receive" some of us missed the last sentence in the instructions for about 5 years

I can’t count the number of times I have gone into that section to add or remove a channel and ended up hitting ADD ALL by mistake … then spent the next two days cleaning up the mess.

Join the club. It's a horrible screen and IMHO the weakest part of the whole TiVo UI. The text at the top should been much smaller (same applies to the SP manager), with more channels visible at a time before we even talk about adding "are you sure?" confirmations to add/remove all!

The "*" I know how to do. How do you get the "(" ?
